4.5 describe a variety of everyday and scientific devices and situations, explaining the fate of the input energy in terms of the above relationship (see 4.4), including their representation by Sankey diagrams

1) 2) wasted heat= 400J Efficiency= useful energy out/total energy in Heat to water= 1000J 1000/2000= 0.5
Sound energy= 600J
3) 4)
efficiency= useful energy out/total energy in 150-30=120J 120/150= 0.8

SCIENTIFIC FACTS TO REMEMBER NEXT TIME.

-Unbalanced forces means that the object is accelerating not "going forwards"
-remember a=(v-u)/t
-acceleration's units are m/s2
-To independently turn off lamps in a series circuit, make it parallel and add its own switch.
-The cell of a circuit affects its current.
- The law of reflection is: (angle) i = (angle) r
- Diffraction for small gap= lines curve into a semicircle.
  Diffraction for big gap= lines only curve on the ends.
